Good practice

The app collects your routes, stories, travel statistics, and all the photos you take while on the road. Just carry your phone in your pocket and get a beautiful travel journal once you’re back home. When using Polarsteps, travelers don’t have to worry about internet costs and battery consumption — the app uses offline GPS-tracking and eats up only 4% of battery charge per day. Once Wi-Fi connection is available, the app transfers all the information to the traveler’s Polarsteps webpage. There, the trip is displayed as an interactive map showing routes, key locations, distance covered, and photos.

What are the benefits of the project ?

It is very useful application that helps travelers to easily organize and track their route, make it easier for them to plan their trip, helps to share experiences, information, memories. I like it very much, because of the low energy consumption, and primary the possibility for offline work who does not engage users with additional and high costs for mobile internet when traveling abroad, and this is perhaps one of the big advantages of the application - to travel and store all information without paying for that

What were the constraints faced by the company ?

The challenge was to figure out how the app would work so that it could be intuitive, easy to use, and convenient for all ages.

Which advice would give to another company ?

Here, i would like to quote the sentence in the official company site:Do not restrict your freedom of thought, let your imagination run wild, travel more, explore new places, because a good idea can be born on a boat, on vacation, in the mountains or while shopping. Don't be afraid to experiment because Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.

What are the next steps?

It think that that the main goal is to reach new users who will learn about the benefits of this application.
