The Supercor supermarket in Madrid's Mercado de San Antónhas implemented 'beepcons', the intelligent guidance beacons developed by ILUNION Tecnología y Accesibilidad, which will allow people with visual disabilities to move around its facilities and make purchases with more autonomy with the help of a mobile application. In total, they have placed 9 'beepcons' in strategic points of the supermarket, which have been selected after analyzing the establishment and which indicate where the different sections are located, which ones are served with staff (butcher, delicatessen, etc.) and invites users to ask for help from the shop assistants in the areas once there. This technology allows the blind or visually impaired person to be notified of the proximity of an area marked with a 'beepcon'. The user's mobile receives a warning by sound, vibration or verbal notification. In addition, it informs you about what is in that area and at what distance, for which the user's mobile receives a list with the information of all the 'beepcon' and their descriptions; even being able to redirect you to a website. When you select the object of interest, this smart beacon emits a sound, allowing you to find it easily.

2019

It has been working since it started. In fact, in 2021 they renewed its agreement with the ARS Foundation for the accessibility of its Supercor centers.
