Unicredit is part of "Valuable 500": an international movement of companies and leaders aiming to put the inclusion of disability at the top of their agendas. On the way of the inclusion goal, Unicredit activated some different services in Austria, Germany and Italy.

Good practice

Best practices for workers and people with disabilities in Austria, Germany and Italy.

Austria:

  • smartbanking in Sign Language;
  • free shuttle service for customers with disabilities who need to go to the branch;
  • "INCLUSION LOAN": since December 2020 UniCredit Bank Austria has offered all customers, who are in possession of a disabled person's ID card, a particularly favorable loan for important purchases such as a smart portable visual aid, barrier-free design of your apartment or a guide dog for the blind.

Germany:

  • "AVATURE" INCLUSIVE APPLICATION PROCESS: new application program, Avature, designed to create more inclusive access for all talent;
  • INCLUSION YAMMER-COMMUNITY: creation and leadership of a closed Yammer group for employees with disabilities;
  • "FIRST STEPS" - Awareness Workshop for Apprentices.

Italy:

  • RESKILLING PROJECT: launched in November 2020, this initiative aims to retrain blind and visually impaired colleagues who worked as telephone operators before the COVID-19 pandemic. Project managers are trained to facilitate the change of role;
  • BROCHURE "OUR DIFFERENCES MAKE A DIFFERENCE": distributed to all Managers, this initiative is aimed at making them understand the challenges faced by people with disabilities and encourage the adoption of correct behavior towards colleagues, customers and acquaintances;
  • ONLINE MEETINGS OF VOLUNTARY GROUPS OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES.

Costs

Unicredit bank has enrolled "disability managers": workers who has the responsibility of the inclusion of their colleagues with disabilities.
The cost is not known, but the goal of inclusion of all is foreseen in the economic balance.
