What is an HR Policy ? 3. Women and gender issues

Target skills

Learning how an HR Policy is strutured and what needs to be in it.

"Gender equality at work means that all employees have access to the same rewards, opportunities and resources within a company."
Despite some progress, gender inequality at work still exists. The fight against this discrimination is still very much alive in many companies.

"In France, men are paid on average 28.5% more than women."

Here are some actions to put in place when developing your company's HR policy

  • Valuing the work of both men and women.
  • Have flexibility in terms of working hours for all employees when the position allows it.
  • To have transparency in terms of salaries.
  • Make managers and team members aware of this type of discrimination.
  • Evaluate your team on the basis of skills, not gender.

It is important to note that gender discrimination is everyone's business. Therefore, employees also have a role to play in reporting and telling managers about discrimination.
