Being aware of the difficulties we can encounter when trying to have and more inclusive use of digital in a company.
A company that comes closest to an inclusive work environment has several elements such as
- The employee feels valued and accepted.
- The company focuses on the learning and development of its employees.
- The work environment is conducive to interaction.
- The work environment is adapted to all employees.
- The management listens.
- Feelings of commitment and trust are present.
"Social norms are often the biggest barrier to inclusion."
On the other hand, the notion of inclusion within a team also has its challenges.
The main barriers to inclusion are
- Physical barriers. Is the work environment accessible to all?
- Discrimination in hiring is prohibited. In this sense, avoid listing requirements that disqualify some candidates.
- Behavioural barriers. Is there favouritism in terms of promotion, salary increases and contracts within the company?
- Social barriers. Economic disparity can be a barrier to socialising with colleagues outside working hours.
